OZZE OVERST
For Ozze Overst, Ramona Nieuwenhuisen created an original still life that became the label for the wine’s 2024 vintage. Commissioned by Hansen Dranken and Landgoed Overst, the artwork now also has a place in the estate’s collection.

Ozze Overst: from artwork to wine label
Each year, a different Limburg artist is invited to contribute to this wine-label series. Ramona was the seventh. The white wine is produced at Landgoed Overst in Voerendaal, South Limburg, so the estate and its grape harvest gave her a starting point for the composition.
Flowers, grapes, wine glasses and small insects surround the bottle in the still life. The artwork connects the wine with the place where it is made. Seeing the artwork and bottle together shows how the same composition works both as an artwork and on a small printed label.

A lasting place at the estate
In May 2025, Ramona visited Landgoed Overst for the bottling and saw her artwork become part of the finished wine label. The original artwork was given a place in the estate’s collection alongside works by the artists who contributed to earlier editions.
The finished project has two forms: the original artwork at the estate and its reproduction on the bottles of Ozze Overst. The photographs show that connection, from the work itself to the wine carrying its image.
